Setting Your Videos on YouTube or Website to Auto Play
Setting Your Videos on YouTube, Website or Blog to Auto Play
Hey fellow YouTubers. I just wanted to show you all something to get a little bit more out of your YouTube channel.
And what that is, it’s to set your video to automatically play, when somebody lands on your channel. Let me show you what that is.
This one isn’t set up that way, but mine is. Oops. Let me click out of there and let me refresh this really quick and you’ll see what I mean.
So once somebody clicks from your link, maybe to your website, or however they found your channel, and the video you have set up to play, automatically plays when they land there.
Here, this one isn’t set up that way but let me show you how easy it is to do that.
You come up here to Video and Playlists after you login to your Youtube channel. And you see right here? It says Autoplay Featured Video, and then you can choose whichever video you want to feature.
And it could be the one that You just uploaded, or it could be a different one, maybe you want to make a welcome video and explain what your channel is about.
Something else too, that’s important, is when you put the hyperlink into your description, you need to be sure that it has “http” in front of it. You see how it, when I scroll over it, it becomes an actual hyperlink and you click it and you go to that website.
Many, as you see here, people will put this in here, and it doesn’t actually become a hyperlink. So without that “http://” in front of it it’s just text and it isn’t going to be a hyperlink back to your page.
Something else I wanted to share, too, on your website. Let me pull this up here a little bit.
When somebody lands on it, you can actually set this up to your Youtube channel.
So that the video you put on your page will play automatically when somebody lands on it.
This is good for pages, not so much for blogs.
Because if you have like fifteen, you know, blog posts with fifteen videos on them and you all have them set to autoplay.
They’re all going to play when somebody lands on the page that’s showing all the videos.
So, let me show you the code for that really quick.
Here is a code for an embed, for a Youtube video, and if you notice this area right here where it says, that little ampserand and the AMP in the row equals zero.
All that stuff.
And it’s in here twice.
You need to replace it with the and symbol autoplay equals one.
And that will set upbe the video when somebody lands on the page to automatically start playing.
Let me show you what I mean here .
I’m going to maybe refresh this page and you’ll see this is one of my videos.
See how it’s set up to play automatically as soon as somebody lands on my page? That’s just my little welcome and thank you video, and all that stuff.
So, I hope this was helpful to you.
Remember that it’s important to have that http.
And it’s really simple to go in and create your video, and set up your channel to play automatically.
So, have a great day and I hope you make use of that, this quick and simple tip.
In the embed code where you see this: &rel=0 (remember its in there twice) replace it with this: &autoplay=1
